Faith Community Nursing

Parish Nursing, known nationally as Faith Community Nursing, is defined as “the specialized practice of professional nursing that focuses on the intentional care of the spirit, promoting holistic health and preventing or minimizing illness in a faith community”.  It is not “hands-on” care that most people associate with nursing, but encompasses health advocacy and education, support through challenging health transitions including end of life, resource referral and coordination, and shared prayer.  The goal of this ministry is to support the physical, emotional and spiritual health of all parishioners.
